Innovative Technology. World-Class Care.
Advancing psychological health and traumatic brain injury treatment.
The National Center for Telehealth and Technology (T2) researches, develops, evaluates, and deploys new and existing
technologies for Psychological Health (PH) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) across the Department of Defense (DoD).
The T2 Center meets this mission by serving as the principal DoD coordinator in such areas as innovative technology
applications, suicide surveillance and prevention, online behavioral health tools, and telepsychological health.
T2 is a component center of the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain
Injury (DCoE), which leads a collaborative global network to promote the resilience, recovery and reintegration of Warriors
and their families who face psychological health and traumatic brain injury issues.
Technology projects
Two technology projects that are a critical part of T2’s mission are the Automated Behavioral Health Clinic (ABHC)
and the Department of Defense Suicide Event Report (DoDSER). The ABHC project offers a standardized, automated
check-in process for mental health clinics that treat Service Members or Veterans. The DoDSER project provides
suicide surveillance for all branches of the military.
About The ABHC
The Automated Behavioral Health Clinic (ABHC) is a software system custom tailored to the unique business practices
of military behavioral health clinics. It is a flexible system that can standardize and automate patient check-in processes. MORE >
About the DoDSER
The DoDSER is a web application that allows the military to capture detailed information about
suicide events. The DoDSER is one of the primary sources of DoD-level suicide event data. MORE >
afterdeployment.org
afterdeployment.org (AD) offers modularized content across a spectrum of post-deployment conditions
(combat stress and triggers; conflict at work; re-connecting with family and friends; depression; anger;

Innovative Technology Applications
The Innovative Technology Applications (ITA) program is dedicated to DoD-level dissemination and development of
Virtual Reality (VR), virtual worlds, and other new technologies to treat and prevent psychological health
concerns and traumatic brain injury. ITA’s mission includes validating innovative technologies through research,
increasing the number of providers trained in VR, and developing best practices. ITA was created in response to
calls for innovative methods of prevention and treatment of mental illness. MORE >
Research Overview
